About The Position

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Center Technician to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights. The Technician will be responsible for performing structured cabling installations and server rack deployments in a data center environment. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and a strong work ethic. Technical training will be provided on the job; prior experience is not required. The ideal candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work both independently and as part of a team under the direction of on-site Salute Leadership. Our team handles a wide range of technical projects, with a primary focus on rack movements and logistical warehouse support at this site. Some projects may require additional training, such as cabling and infrastructure work. Please note that projects at the New Albany, OH site have not yet commenced, and the start date for on-site work is tentative. Candidates selected for this role will begin employment in a traveling capacity, supporting active data center projects at other locations while completing hands-on training. This initial travel assignment will continue until work at the New Albany site is ready to begin, at which point employees will transition to the local site.

Requirements

• Knowledge of how to properly utilize power tools is required
• Ability to read and understand cabling maps
• Ability to work at different heights, in confined spaces, and on different surfaces
• Ability to use mobile application technology
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Gain proficiency in workplace IT systems for reporting, timecards, expense entry, and the execution of project tasks. Examples (SalesForce, ADP, Expensify)

Responsibilities

• Install, route, and secure structured cabling according to project specifications
• Assist with server rack deployments and related hardware setup
• Follow safety protocols and company procedures at all times
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Complete tasks assigned by the Team Lead in a timely and accurate manner
• Support quality assurance efforts by adhering to installation standards
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and supervisors
• Ability to follow precise instructions
• Perform material movement including shipping/receiving and inventory management per standard process
• Perform Data Center pre-cabling to industry standards
• Detailed physical inventory tracking and staging
• Timely responsiveness via MS Outlook, MS Teams, text, and/or phone
