About The Position

As a Data Center Technician, you will serve as a primary resolver for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You will support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. You will possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You will understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You will know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved. You will work well with a team. You are receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required for the position.

Requirements

  • 1+ Year of Hardware Break/Fix Experience including building of personal gaming computers.
  • Previous hands-on server maintenance support.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for 12 hour days in a data center environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience.
  • Experience in data center operations or related technical field.
  • Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily.
  • Required to work in data center environments with variable temperature conditions.
  • Work areas may contain environmental allergens and airborne particles including dust.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Low Voltage experience is a plus.
  • Industry certifications CompTIA A+, Network+ or Certified Network Defender

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary resolver for complex hardware infrastructure issues.
  • Support and share knowledge of technologies with team members.
  • Work autonomously to resolve server issues.
  • Understand all aspects of the equipment supported.
  • Take direction and pay attention to all details involved.
  • Work well with a team.
  • Be receptive to feedback and adjust performance and behavior as required.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Understand power paths, cabling standards, hardware layouts, environmental telemetry, and root-cause behaviors.
  • Address ISP layer infrastructure issues including power faults, cabling failures, thermal excursions, or alarms quickly.
  • Perform ISP physical layer work including cabling, labeling, patching, rack power installs, and inspections with precision, cleanliness, accuracy, and compliance.
