About The Position

Massed Compute is building a modern GPU cloud platform for AI and high-performance compute workloads. Customers choose us when they need high-performance infrastructure with more flexibility, visibility, and support than they get from traditional options. Our work sits at the intersection of AI infrastructure, product design, systems thinking, and customer obsession. Massed Compute is looking for hands-on Data Center Technicians to help keep our sites running around the clock. This is a contract (1099) role. You will install and maintain hardware, fix problems fast, and give our clients great service. This is a great fit if you like working with your hands, you pay close attention to detail, and you take pride in technical work.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a service technician or in a similar data center role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking, including LAN setups and Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with GPU systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and close attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills to work well with clients and teammates.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Experience helping on-call technicians and the ability to respond to critical events.
  • Dependable and trustworthy.
  • A strong interest in learning new data center concepts and technology.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and obtain security clearance.
  • Minimum 1 year hands-on experience racking, stacking, cabling, troubleshooting, and servicing physical servers and networking equipment.
  • Comfortable diagnosing server hardware failures, replacing components, working with switches and network cabling, accessing server management interfaces such as IPMI/BMC, and providing remote-hands support.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical experience is a plus.
  • IT or telecom certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Rack and stack data center equipment such as servers, networking gear, monitoring systems, and other hardware.
  • Run cabling, including Cat6a installations.
  • Repair and troubleshoot equipment on a regular basis to keep downtime low.
  • Give clients great service by handling questions and technical issues quickly.
  • Read and follow schematics to help with network installs and upkeep.
  • Keep clear records of all work you do, including network diagrams and equipment logs.
  • Find and diagnose hardware problems, including networking and failed components.
  • Provide on-call and on-site emergency support when needed.
  • Take part in training that helps you build new skills and learn new technology.
