About The Position

As an Amazon Data Center Technician, you serve as one of many primary resolvers for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. You possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved. You work well with a team. You are receptive to feedback and able to adjust performance and behavior as required for the position.

Requirements

  • Hardware troubleshooting
  • Rack and stack
  • Cable management
  • Data center operations
  • Linux system administration
  • Strong knowledge of server architecture, component-level repair, diagnostics tools, and OEM hardware.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, cabling standards, patching, link testing, and basic switch configuration.
  • Ability to evaluate technical symptoms, isolate faults, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, ticketing systems, SOP adherence, and change management.
  • Experience with racks, PDUs, UPS systems, cable management, airflow, and cooling principles.
  • Awareness of data center security protocols, access control, and audit requirements.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with KVMs, crash carts, cable testers, power measurement tools, and diagnostic utilities.
