About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Superintendent to oversee and manage all on-site field operations for large-scale data center and telecommunications infrastructure projects. This leadership role is responsible for supervising field teams, ensuring quality and safety compliance, coordinating job site logistics, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data center environments, fiber optics, and structured cabling, along with a proven ability to lead large teams in fast-paced, mission-critical settings.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (Associate degree or technical certification preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, data center infrastructure, or structured cabling
  • At least 2+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role
  • Proven experience managing large-scale field operations and enterprise-level teams (40+ personnel)
  • Hands-on expertise in data center fiber infrastructure, including: Installation of splice trays and fiber termination, Working with 144+ fiber counts, Fiber matrix environments, OTDR testing and troubleshooting (2+ years)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, riser diagrams, and project specifications
  • Knowledge of universal communications color codes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in hyperscale or enterprise data center environments
  • BICSI Installer 2, Technician, or RCDD certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • PMP certification or construction/project management coursework

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for data center builds, including structured cabling, fiber optics, and voice/data installations
  • Supervise and manage teams of 40–50 technicians and subcontractors in enterprise environments
  • Oversee job site logistics, including material deliveries, equipment usage, and labor allocation
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, and inspectors
  • Ensure all installations meet data center standards and industry requirements (BICSI, NEC, TIA/EIA, and OSHA)
  • Conduct job site inspections and ensure quality control for all cabling and infrastructure systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical, operational, and personnel issues in the field
  • Collaborate with project management to track progress, manage schedules, and forecast labor/material needs
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, timesheets, and progress logs
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and site rules
