About The Position

A Data Center Solution Architect is a subject-matter expert responsible for shaping and validating the core physical infrastructure of a data center, including power and cooling. This role involves translating customer requirements into engineered solutions, anticipating technical risks, and supporting site assessment, Bill of Materials (BOM) definition, and commissioning to ensure successful project delivery.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering background in data center physical infrastructure, including power, cooling, mechanical systems, and structured cabling
  • Demonstrated experience working with system integrators and major data center vendors (e.g., Schneider Electric APC, Eaton, Vertiv, ABB)
  • Proven experience with capacity planning, phased deployments, and future-proof infrastructure design
  • Hands-on field experience, including site audits, installation support, and commissioning
  • Ability to clearly structure, document, and defend engineering solutions and technical decisions
  • Active and relevant certifications required (CDCP/CDCS, BICSI RCDD)
  • Familiarity with US data center standards, safety practices, and site compliance requirements
  • Ability to travel in the US

  • Commercial awareness and ability to balance engineering rigor with business constraints
  • Proficiency with design and documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-level engineering studies for data center projects, including new builds, retrofits, and expansions
  • Define data center physical infrastructure architectures covering power, cooling, space constraints, and structured physical cabling
  • Produce engineering documentation, including drawings, technical reports, and customer-ready proposal materials
  • Translate designs into structured Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with design intent
  • Conduct on-site infrastructure audits and assessments to evaluate feasibility, constraints, and risks
  • Identify potential technical risks and design tradeoffs related to cost, resiliency, schedule, and scalability
  • Support installation activities and participate in commissioning and validation efforts to confirm alignment with design intent
  • Act as a technical reference and owner's engineer for customers, sales teams, OEMs, and implementation partners
  • Contribute to project coordination and technical follow-up when required
