Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, project management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience/degree
  • 5+ years experience in the data center industry including strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) and Commissioning disciplines
  • 3+ years experience with Hyperscale (>30MW) Data Centers
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in construction and commissioning project delivery
  • 10+ years of demonstrated functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure compliance with construction/project requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a 3 to 5 year time span
  • Experience leading large markets or business sectors
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others

Nice To Haves

  • PE, CCM, PMP, CFE, COA, LEED and/or Master’s Degree

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to developing annual budgets and strategic objectives.
  • Lead business development teams and collaborate with leaders of other business units, regions, or functions in the identification and pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and technical expertise to review and contribute to proposals, whitepapers, or other materials.
  • Develop a wide industry network of contacts to stay informed about current and future industry and market actions.
  • Select and develop senior leaders, assigning accountabilities, setting objectives, and establishing priorities.
  • Build and maintain desired corporate cultural outcomes consistent with positive engagement outcomes and psychological safety.
  • Perform annual and periodic reviews of assigned senior leaders, including incentive compensation and salary adjustments within annual budget parameters.
  • Monitor existing client relationships to ensure engagement objectives and delivery of services are met, and identify opportunities for improvement to position the firm for repeat or new work.
  • Maintain relationships with large clients and conduct regular outreach.
  • Evaluate all contracts and backlog for risk exposure and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain a strong industry network.
  • Participate actively in industry and civic organizations to promote corporate citizenship.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, nurturing current client relationships and building new ones.
  • Contribute thought leadership internally and in public-facing channels (social media, conferences, events).
  • Potentially receive brand support to build personal brand as a technical expert.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in internal and client-facing meetings to provide industry insight and guidance, including solutions for client challenges.
  • Spend part of the time in project execution, overseeing project teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Oversee and advise on all aspects of one or more client's capital projects, from concept and initiation through project completion and handover, including post-handover upgrades and retrofits.
  • Oversee one or more programs/projects and collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure project construction activities align with owner/client’s project goals, budget, and timeline.
  • Work closely with Architects, Engineers, and General Contractors (GC) to achieve project goals.
  • Assist in identifying risks in the construction/commissioning process and developing risk mitigation plans.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Grow the data center capital projects work independently, supported by an internal network of leaders.
