About The Position

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to join their Infrastructure Operations team. This role will focus on managing and improving site security operations within AWS data centers. The selected individual will be responsible for overseeing physical security operations, developing post orders, defining security procedures, handling site incidents, working with security equipment, participating in construction projects, driving process improvements, and managing vendors. Duties also include ensuring consistent deployment of security policies and procedures, participating in site audits and reviews, and testing new security technologies. The role requires resilient leadership skills, flexibility in a dynamic environment, exceptional knowledge of security practices, and strong communication abilities.

Requirements

  • Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager with duties including interpreting and implementing requirements within the personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • 3+ years of process improvement procedure creation experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing contract security and physical security operation programs such as Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems (eg. LENEL or C-cure)
  • 3+ years managing a team of individual contributors and vendors
  • 3+ years of experience running professional meetings

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent professional experience in corporate or government security environment
  • 3+ years of experience working in a facility and observing security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
  • 4+ years of experience driving campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
  • 3+ years of experience working with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
  • 3+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting.
  • 4+ years of overseeing security sub-contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
  • 4+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs and physical security countermeasures
