About The Position

M.C. Dean is seeking a Data Center Security Lenel & Genetec Specialist (Tech Specialist 3) to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role is part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers. The specialist will be a key member in delivering electronic security installation projects, working with Lenel for access control and Genetec for video management. The position is located at a construction project site in Burlington, Texas, with potential work at their Round Rock, TX office or HQ in Tysons, VA, which will require travel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma with 10+ years of experience with installation, troubleshooting and/or testing of electronic security systems OR Associates with 8+ years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years experience OR Master's Degree with 3+ years experience
  • Must have a valid certification with Lenel and/or Genetec.
  • Must have 5+ years of professional experience programming, administering, and supporting enterprise Lenel and/or Genetec systems.
  • Experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise physical security systems, including cameras, access control panels, and integrated security devices, with the ability to collaborate with field technicians and vendors on hardware-related issues.
  • Understanding of network architecture and information security concepts, including LAN/WAN environments, IP addressing, DHCP, MAC addresses, VPNs, firewalls, Active Directory/domains, and collaboration with network teams.
  • Strong project management, documentation, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with global teams, vendors, installers, and technology partners.
  • System administrator experience in performing triage on system problems, resolving the system problems, analyzing system data to prevent problems, and implementing new workstations and system extensions.
  • Reliable attendance at customer site during work hours required by customer.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends.
  • Ability to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and support security systems, including databases, application software, operating systems, features, functionality, reports, badges, biometrics, cameras, and other functions.
  • Configure systems, manage load sheets, perform programming, and maintain system configurations supporting operational and project requirements.
  • Program and configure new security devices, system expansions, upgrades, and Day 2 operational enhancements across enterprise environments.
  • Support testing and commissioning activities, including pre-test validation, T&C reporting, punch list management, and system acceptance.
  • Work with field technicians to troubleshoot, document, and commission new/existing security equipment.
  • Train system users and other system support personnel as needed.
  • Perform all duties with minimal direct supervision.
  • Monitor system health, optimize system availability, and proactively identify and resolve issues impacting physical security infrastructure performance.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system backups, firmware updates, log reviews, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Manage and prioritize service requests and break-fix incidents, ensuring timely resolution, documentation, and operational visibility.
  • Manage security projects from concept to design, implementation, and close out.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, installers, and site stakeholders to support maintenance activities, service requests, and site access requirements.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, service metrics, trackers, and reporting for ongoing maintenance activities and special projects.
  • Partner with security technology teams to improve system performance, standardize configurations, and support enterprise security initiatives.
  • Participate in coordination calls with the engineering team and designated project manager to ensure proper communication and delivery.
  • Attend coordination calls with contractors/trade groups to coordinate dependencies with regards to security drawings and installation.
  • Track revisions, RFIs, submittals, Bill of Materials throughout the project lifecycle.
