About The Position

Responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the data center and adjoining critical spaces. Duties typically include coordinating maintenance schedules, ensuring the security and uptime of servers, handling equipment inventory, and supporting IT staff with troubleshooting and installations. Enforce data center policies, manage vendor relationships, and monitor environmental conditions such as temperature and power usage. The role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of data center operations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Facilities Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Typically 2–5 years of experience in data center operations, IT support, or critical facilities management.
  • Working knowledge of IT hardware, data center physical layer cabling, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for dealing with vendors, technicians, and stakeholders.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • CompTIA Server+, Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP), or Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor critical environmental parameters such as data center IT equipment condition, aging, issues and response coordination.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external contractors, service providers, and vendors. Schedule service visits and supervise on-site work.
  • Track, receive, and document hardware, servers, cables, and spare parts. Maintain accurate logs of all equipment in the data center.
  • Enforce physical security policies, manage badge access for personnel, and monitor surveillance or entry logs.
  • Serve as a first responder for facility alarms, hardware failures, or network disruptions. Coordinate with IT and mechanical teams to quickly mitigate downtime.
  • Attend scheduled calls, determine project requirements as advised by stakeholders, determine project materials, order materials and oversee prompt delivery and availability, peer review cabling diagrams submitted by stakeholders and identify and escalate issues, coordinate power requirements and installation, distribute related inhouse work assignments, track project status and escalate concerns and issues.
