Another Source's client, Sabey Data Centers is recruiting a Data Center Operations Technician to join their team in Tukwila, WA. The standard work schedule for this role is Tuesday–Saturday, 10:00 PM–8:00 AM (overnight shift). During the onboarding and training period, you'll work a daytime schedule of Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30pm before transitioning to the overnight shift. As a Data Center Operations Technician, you'll play a hands-on role in maintaining the critical infrastructure that keeps one of Sabey's premier data center campuses operating at peak performance. Working in a 24/7 mission-critical environment, you'll help ensure the reliability of sophisticated electrical, mechanical, environmental, and monitoring systems that support customers who depend on uninterrupted service. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • General maintenance, facilities, or related technical experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or building systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software applications and monitoring platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to respond to on-call situations as needed.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and utilize AI tools and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on critical data center infrastructure and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic electrical, mechanical, and environmental system issues.
  • Monitor building management systems, environmental conditions, power usage, and facility alarms.
  • Respond to equipment alarms and operational issues, identifying root causes and taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain clean, organized equipment rooms, racks, cable pathways, and workspaces.
  • Assist with scheduled maintenance activities, equipment installations, and infrastructure upgrades while minimizing operational impact.
  • Support inventory management by maintaining accurate records of equipment, parts, and hardware assets.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors performing maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity activities to help ensure operational readiness.
  • Document maintenance activities, incidents, and resolutions to support continuous improvement.
  • Partner with senior technicians and engineers on facility projects and operational initiatives.
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., GPTs, automation platforms) to streamline routine tasks such as summarizing documents, drafting correspondence, generating meeting notes, and maintaining engagement trackers.
