About The Position

Our client is a premiere Service Center exclusively offering various functions to the Group of diverse Global Companies it owns. This is a place where things are often changing and growing so you won't be bored! We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Center Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of our data center facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted, efficient, and secure operation of our data center, including the management of staff, equipment, and facility infrastructure. This critical role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years proven experience in data center management and operations (power, space, cooling, PhysSec, racking & stacking, remote hands, etc), with at least 3 years in a related leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, KVM, IPMI/ILOM and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Project management and budgeting skills.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Certifications in DataCenter Design/Architecture and/or Operations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of data Center technicians and engineers, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to maintain the data center's operations.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of servers, networking equipment, and other infrastructure components both on a continuous operational as well as large-scale project basis.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data center operations, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
  • Manage and optimize the use of data center resources, including power, cooling, and space, to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain all data center hardware, including servers, storage systems, networking gear, and associated components.
  • Implement and maintain robust asset management and inventory control systems (ex: Sunbird DCIM, ServiceNow, etc)
  • Enforce security protocols to safeguard the data center, including access control, surveillance, and cybersecurity measures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR, as applicable.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Analyze current and future capacity requirements, making recommendations for scaling infrastructure as needed.
  • Participate in the procurement of new equipment and negotiate with vendors for the best pricing and service agreements.
  • Implement and maintain robust monitoring and reporting tools for tracking data center performance, including server uptime, resource utilization, and environmental conditions.
  • Prepare regular reports on data center performance and efficiency, and make recommendations for improvements.
