About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Data Center Operations Engineer. This is a full-time, contract position with a duration of 6+ months, located in New York, NY 10041, and requires onsite work. The shift is from 9:00 AM to 05:00 PM EST.

Requirements

Hands-on experience in Data Center Operations, Infrastructure Support, or Data Center Engineering.
Experience with network device/server installation, rack & stack, cable management, and hardware troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of server hardware, including memory, hard drives, NICs, CPUs, KVMs, and PDUs.
Experience monitoring and maintaining data center servers and network equipment.
Familiarity with IBM Z10 mainframe environments and associated peripherals.
Working knowledge of IPL, TSO, MVS, JES2, and CA7.
Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
Knowledge of asset management, inventory control, and equipment tracking.
Experience handling backup tapes and offsite tape storage processes.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose connectivity and hardware issues.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate operational documentation and records.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team-oriented data center operations environment.

Responsibilities

Install and de-install network devices, servers, and data center hardware.
Perform rack/stack activities, including server installation, cable management, KVMs, and in-rack PDUs.
Add or replace hardware components such as memory, hard drives, NICs, CPUs, and other server peripherals.
Monitor and maintain servers, network devices, system interfaces, and communication utilities within the data center.
Verify device connectivity and troubleshoot network reconnection and communication issues.
Provide technical support to the network owner/user community and resolve infrastructure-related issues.
Maintain accurate ServiceNow trouble tickets, operational documentation, and incident records.
Monitor and maintain a large-scale IBM Z10 mainframe environment and peripherals.
Perform/support mainframe operations involving IPL, TSO, MVS, JES2, and CA7.
Support and maintain IBM 4000, IBM 6500, and Canon VS 4400 environments.
Manage daily/monthly backup tapes and coordinate tapes for offsite storage.
Maintain accurate asset management and inventory records, including assets assigned to users.
Perform routine data center inventory, equipment tracking, and documentation.
Ensure proper cable management, equipment organization, and data center operational standards.
Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and system issues and escalate complex problems as appropriate.
Perform all other data center operations and infrastructure support duties as assigned.
