Requirements

  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 6+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling).
  • Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP.

Responsibilities

  • Establish good working relationships with all construction stakeholders.
  • Attend all Metro new build, expansion, and retrofit project related design, construction, and commissioning meetings.
  • Act as the liaison between Construction and Operations, serving as the voice for Operations and escalating any issues that could cause impact.
  • Participate in all Construction/Operations walk-throughs and routine construction inspections during builds.
  • Coordinate and execute turnover operations, ensuring turnover checklists are completed and validated, and all turnover artifacts are delivered on time.
  • Document and report lessons learned from each project.
  • Balance leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, project management, and expertise in enterprise-level operations.
  • Monitor services and KPIs, OKRs, SLAs, and OLAs, reporting trends and service anomalies.
  • Keep track of all the latest and upcoming key milestones and deliverables.
  • Lead key processes, such as team and triage meetings, prioritize work across the team, and rebalance priorities to respond to changes.
  • Standardize infrastructure equipment, processes, and workflows through design, construction, and turnover of world-class facilities.
  • Assist with new facility design & commissioning, coordinating the installation of core network infrastructures.
  • Share best practices, assist others in learning roles, processes, and procedures, and mentor others.
  • Promote a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of datacenter activities.
  • Realize the impact of change on others.
