As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll contribute to the design, construction, and operation of our cutting-edge data centers. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our mechanical systems are built to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency. Data Center Services (DCS) is accountable to safely deliver high-quality data center capacity and infrastructure solutions (including new builds & capital improvements) on time and within budget. We achieve this through a highly collaborative and transparent approach, leveraging our internal and external teams to support Google's mission of organizing the world's information. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in facility design, construction environments, and their mechanical infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or other relevant fields, or a Professional Engineering (PE) license.
5 years of experience with data center operations and working with mechanical contractors and cross-functional project teams.

Responsibilities

Participate in project-specific design reviews at various stages (30%, 60%, 95%), focusing on constructability, adherence to Google standards, and value engineering.
Provide on-site mechanical systems support to construction teams and contractors, ensuring work is executed with a focus on quality, speed, and adherence to Google's standards.
Support the commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet performance requirements and operational standards.
Serve as the subject matter expert for mechanical systems, providing support to data center operations teams throughout construction and post-occupancy.
Develop strong working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and efficient project environment.
