Under limited supervision, perform skilled work involving the operation, maintenance, repair, alteration and additions to Data Center systems including but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical building systems, building furnishings and site improvements. This role involves performing preventative/predictive maintenance on, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and operating various types of HVAC-related equipment, emergency generators, and general building mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment, electronic components, and general building control systems. The technician will ensure the root cause of facility equipment problems are identified and repaired quickly. A strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment is essential, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers, air handling units, and CRAC units. The role also includes operating, monitoring, maintaining, and responding immediately to abnormal conditions in facilities systems, performing general building maintenance and repair (drywall, masonry, painting, ceilings, roofing, tile, carpets, windows), monitoring contractor work, conducting daily inspections of data center infrastructure equipment, providing systems availability monitoring and reporting, maintaining records, and ensuring Computerized Maintenance Management System data accuracy. The position requires initiative and the ability to handle multiple projects.
