About The Position

The Data Center Logistics Associate supports the efficient operation of a data center by managing inventory, coordinating shipments, maintaining organized workspaces, and assisting with server rack assembly and installation. The role works with data center operations, procurement, technical support, suppliers, and carriers to meet inventory and logistics needs. It also involves following safety procedures and data center security controls, using material handling and power equipment, and supporting projects and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in logistics, inventory management, or a related field.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and software, and proficiency with basic office software such as Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations with and without a calculator.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents.
• Familiarity with proper lifting techniques and material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming inventory, including racks, trays, networking equipment, and other hardware.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation for items received and shipped.
• Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with suppliers and carriers.
• Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging for outgoing shipments.
• Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness.
• Transport inventory by hand using material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, while following safety procedures.
• Maintain clean and organized storage areas and shipping and receiving docks.
• Assist with disposal of packaging materials and obsolete equipment.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with data center security measures and access controls.
• Collaborate with data center operations, procurement, and technical support teams to fulfill inventory and logistics needs.
• Support special projects and initiatives as directed by management, and perform other assigned duties with attention to quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Assist with setup and installation of computer server racks according to instructions.
• Help assemble server racks using diagrams and guidelines from senior team members.
• Use basic tools and equipment safely and effectively for installation tasks.
• Support senior technicians with cable management and organization within server racks.
