JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a technically skilled and motivated professional to support the design, deployment, troubleshooting, and operation of liquid cooling infrastructure within a data center environment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, a solid understanding of fluid and thermal systems, and the ability to operate effectively in fast‑paced, mission‑critical environments. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, inquisitive, and comfortable working across engineering and facilities teams.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a practical understanding of engineering and physics concepts.
  • Working knowledge of liquid cooling systems, fluid handling, or similar mechanical infrastructure.
  • Ability to understand flow, pressure, and system behavior in liquid‑based systems.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment where priorities may shift quickly.
  • Ability and desire to learn, adapt, and grow in a technically complex environment.
  • Proficiency reading block diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams; familiarity with building or facility schematics is a plus.
  • Frequently required to lift equipment in weight up to 50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a data center environment; experience in a Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) data center is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with server rack terminology and components, such as switches, compute trays, and form factors (e.g., 2OU).
  • Background in thermal, mechanical, facilities, or infrastructure engineering roles.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and support Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and/or chillers, including rapid response to leaks, spills, and system anomalies.
  • Work hands-on with liquid piping and plumbing systems, including fittings, hoses, and components operating under constant pressure and flow.
  • Apply fundamental mechanical and engineering principles such as torque, flexing, stress, and general physics to real‑world systems.
  • Understand and apply thermodynamic principles, including heat transfer, fluid flow, and the relationship between pressure, flow rate, and hose dimensions.
  • Utilize thermocouples appropriately (application and interpretation; not assembly).
  • Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) for custom or semi‑custom solutions, including sourcing non‑off‑the‑shelf components and researching parts from vendors.
  • Use hand tools safely and effectively while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to safe operational practices.
  • Perform root cause analysis on complex issues and drive corrective and preventative actions to avoid repeat failures.
  • Manage and multitask across large-scale projects with overlapping or competing timelines.
  • Interface professionally with external vendors, site facilities staff, and internal customers, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
  • Present technical information clearly to small group audiences, both formally and informally.

Benefits

  • AMD benefits at a glance.
