Join this high impact team as a Data Center Operations Lead or Principal Specialist, Information Workplace Services (P3) to ensure the smooth operation of Data Centers at our Raytheon/RTX locations. The installation, maintenance, support, and monitoring of Data Centers will be performed. Candidate must have a background supporting infrastructure in Data Centers and have an active US Top Secret Security Clearance to be considered. This role is in Tewksbury, MA, and the role will be on site at our facilities to work in Data Centers. This role is relocation eligible if the selected applicant meets company policy criteria.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Experience with IT Data Center operations duties to include Digital Technology (IT) infrastructure, networking and facilities infrastructure.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued US Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Security+ and Net+ within 6 months
  • Experience with access control list, security posture, and vendor best practices.
  • Experience with Visio diagramming and design capabilities.
  • Willingness and availability to travel domestically as needed.
  • Effective customer service skills, including oral and written communications.
  • Ability to work under time constraints.
  • Experience with classified computing and ICD705 and NISPOM Chapter 8.

Responsibilities

  • Focuses on Inter-team communication and organization of clear documentation of Data Center details to support and enable smooth project growth.
  • Primary Digital Technology point of contact for all Facilities related issues within and affecting the Data Center.
  • Provides input to the Data Center metric for the Monthly Operation Review.
  • Provide yearly input for Digital Technology Facilities capital budget.
  • Reviews Data Center environmental monitoring strategy with Facilities to include: Off-hour emergency response Power outage support Temperature monitoring Under floor water and fire detection
  • Meets weekly or as needed with management to update Data Center schedules, issues, and outages.
  • Responsible for standard processes associated with the Data Center to include: Data Center Naming Conventions Access Control Server inventory Change Control for Data Center related activities Disaster Plans and Policies to include escalation processes Provide Escorting for planned and unplanned Facilities events/projects
  • Maintains smooth operation of Data Center services.
  • Plans, evaluates, coordinates, and performs installation and/or reconfiguration of Data Center racks.
  • Maintains Data Center management software platform
  • Prepares or ensures that appropriate Data Center documentation exists, including operational instructions, technical diagrams, and other documentation. Where no documentation exists, new documentation will be created.
  • Provide regular monitoring and analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Assist with coordination of third-party maintenance for Data Center equipment or with vendors for third-party support.
  • Work with program engineers to resolve Data Center problems in tactical environments.
  • Assist in the overall performance and capability of technical team through mentoring, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Willingness and availability to work outside normal business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed.
  • Must be able to work with general supervision and follow established procedures.
