Ascent, LLC is seeking a Data Center IT Lead Technician for the 3rd shift. This role involves installing, testing, modifying, and terminating various types of cabling, including fiber, coax, and Cat 5/6, within customer data center environments. The technician will also perform server installations, including drives, switches, routers, ladder racks, cages, and cabinets. Key responsibilities include working with customer equipment, prioritizing tasks, managing order commitments, conducting advanced testing, and performing custom installations and advanced troubleshooting, particularly with fiber terminations. The role also entails designing and leading cage builds, troubleshooting security systems, and working with customer equipment, which may include basic configuration tasks. A significant part of the job involves running fiber and coax cross-connects, ensuring proper termination techniques, deploying cabinet rack mount PDUs, installing cable management systems, and racking/stacking customer equipment. The technician will also install and test various cross-connect circuits and conduct carrier circuit maintenance and testing. Collaboration with the Networking Group for escalations and troubleshooting is expected. Maintaining detailed records of all work activities and managing day-to-day operations and project staffing are also crucial aspects of this position. The role requires determining work priorities from a ticketing queue and ensuring adherence to commit times. Other duties may be assigned.
