About The Position

The Data Center Infrastructure Technician supports the installation and testing of cabling and related infrastructure in indoor business office and construction environments. The role involves working under the direction of senior technicians and supervisors, following company and client safety procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The position may involve workdays, nights, or weekends based on project needs, as well as work in tight or confined spaces and at heights on ladders.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience testing equipment or cabling, building out racks or cabinets, and terminating onto patch panels.
Basic understanding of RJ45 terminations and punch-downs.
Comfort working with color-coded wiring.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
Willingness and ability to work days, nights, or weekends based on project needs.
Ability to work on ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in confined spaces.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
OSHA 10 certification required within the first two weeks.

Responsibilities

Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite safety policies and procedures.
Pull, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling according to TIA/EIA standards.
Begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance.
Assist with labeling and cable identification.
Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
Support cable testing using basic tools such as Fluke and EXFO under supervision.
Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors.
