About The Position

As a Data Center Technician, you will serve as one of the primary resolvers for your support team, skilled at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware infrastructure issues. You will support and share knowledge of these technologies with team members. You will possess basic to intermediate system administration skills and work autonomously to resolve server issues. You will understand all aspects of the equipment you support. You will know how to take direction when given, paying attention to all details involved. You will work well with a team, be receptive to feedback, and able to adjust performance and behavior as required for the position.

Requirements

  • Previous Hardware Break/Fix Experience
  • Prior hands-on server hardware maintenance support
  • Basic networking knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP and storage devices
  • Basic Linux/Unix command line knowledge
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
  • 2-3 years of experience in data center operations or related technical field
  • Industry certifications CompTIA A+, Network+ or Certified Network Defender
  • Must be able to work on your feet for 10 hour days in a data center environment
  • Must successfully pass through metal detection equipment daily
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Standing/walking for extended periods
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Ability to adapt to varying temperature conditions within the data center environment
  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces when necessary
  • Ability to follow required security protocols including metal detection screening

  • Experience with ticketing systems and documentation

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware infrastructure issues.
  • Support and share knowledge of technologies with team members.
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of physical components.
  • Perform hardware replacements and repairs.
  • Understand cooling systems and power distribution.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting.
  • Use ticketing systems and documentation.
