About The Position

The Data Center Field Superintendent leads daily field execution for data center infrastructure, AI compute, network deployment, remediation, commissioning support, and technical installation projects throughout the United States. This role owns daily site execution, including personnel, productivity, quality, safety, schedule adherence, jobsite readiness, client coordination, and field documentation. The Superintendent is responsible for keeping crews aligned, identifying blockers early, escalating risks, and ensuring work is customer ready.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data center, telecommunications, structured cabling, network infrastructure, critical-facility field operations, or related construction environments.
  • 3+ years of experience leading field crews as a superintendent, foreman, lead technician, or equivalent field leader.
  • Strong knowledge of rack-and-stack, copper cabling, fiber-optic cabling, labeling, cable management, grounding, bonding, installation quality, and closeout standards.
  • Experience working in active data centers, colocation facilities, hyperscale environments, construction sites, or critical infrastructure facilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, cable schedules, rack elevations, port maps, MOPs, SOPs, runbooks, and project requirements.
  • Strong understanding of daily field planning, sequencing, manpower planning, material readiness, access coordination, progress control, and schedule recovery.
  • Ability to inspect work, enforce quality standards, drive punch closure, verify closeout evidence, and prevent customer-facing rework.
  • Strong leadership, communication, documentation, customer-facing judgment, problem-solving, and risk escalation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet travel, background, drug, safety, and site-access screening requirements.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% to 90% nationwide
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, assist with heavier team lifts, work from ladders/lifts/platforms/raised-floor environments when authorized, and perform extended field walks while wearing required PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI data centers, GPU clusters, high-performance computing, liquid-cooled infrastructure, hyperscale deployments, commissioning support, or smart-hands operations preferred.
  • BICSI, OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, or related field certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Monday.com, Smartsheet, Procore, CxAlloy, SharePoint, resource management platforms, or similar project tracking tools preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations for data center construction, deployment, remediation, and service projects.
  • Own the daily field plan, workface readiness, manpower alignment, task sequencing, and production goals.
  • Manage technicians, lead technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and assigned field crews.
  • Conduct daily planning meetings, safety briefings, work assignments, toolbox talks, and production reviews.
  • Coordinate manpower, tools, materials, equipment, access, lifts, site readiness, and workspace readiness.
  • Review scopes of work, drawings, rack elevations, cable schedules, MOPs, runbooks, client standards, and acceptance requirements.
  • Monitor production, labor utilization, milestone readiness, schedule performance, and recovery needs.
  • Identify and escalate field risks, blockers, material shortages, access issues, scope gaps, safety concerns, and change indicators.
  • Inspect completed work for quality, labeling, port accuracy, cable management, cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
  • Oversee rack-and-stack, structured cabling, fiber, copper, equipment deployment, remediation, MEP support, and smart-hands activities.
  • Drive punch-list closure, rework correction, closeout documentation, and customer-readiness reviews.
  • Ensure accurate daily reports, manpower reports, progress updates, issue logs, photos, redlines, and closeout evidence.
  • Coordinate with clients, general contractors, PMs, TPLs, commissioning teams, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Enforce site safety requirements, PPE rules, stop-work expectations, company policies, and customer-specific procedures.
  • Train and develop lead technicians, field technicians, future superintendents, and future Technical Project Leads.
  • Complete ongoing security awareness training and comply with company policies.
  • Identify and escalate security risks to the appropriate Executive Leadership Team member and actively contribute to remediation efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
