Develop concepts for new data center infrastructure solutions focused on electrical power system technologies to reduce cost, improve reliability, efficiency, and speed to market. Lead all phases of design and development life cycle of electrical systems comprising concept design, prototyping and deployments. Develop collaborations with data center technology vendors, and consultants to remain current on data center electrical systems industry trends while influencing relevant technology development. Collaborate with external vendors to select, procure, and manage critical infrastructure equipment (e.g., Substation power transformers, Medium voltage GIS + AIS switchgear, low voltage transformers, solid state transformers, DC to DC converters, High ampacity busway etc.). Manage the selection, procurement, and ongoing oversight of essential infrastructure equipment, which includes Substation power transformers, Medium voltage GIS + AIS switchgear, low voltage transformers, solid state transformers, DC to DC converters, etc., in partnership with external vendors. Lead the evaluation and adoption of new power technologies (e.g., fuel cells, advanced battery storage, microgrid controllers, onsite generation, solid state transformers) and develop specifications and basis of design (BoD) with vendors to enable capital investments. Drive required cross-functional collaboration with other teams including Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, construction, commissioning, and data center operations. Ability to travel to vendor/design partner locations and data center sites for verification/validation testing of electrical systems technologies and products.
