This position applies solid knowledge of facility operations to perform moderately complex maintenance and infrastructure tasks. Uses judgment to troubleshoot issues, follow established procedures, and support reliable operations within a mission-critical environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2–4 years of experience in facilities maintenance, data center operations, or a similar technical environment
  • Experience in mission-critical environments (data centers, healthcare, manufacturing, or industrial facilities) strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing (MEP) systems
  • Exposure to critical infrastructure such as power distribution, UPS systems, generators, or HVAC/cooling systems
  • Experience monitoring and responding to BMS alarms or building systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and procedures
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance practices and basic troubleshooting

  • Technical certification or trade training (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or related field)
  • Industry certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, OSHA, facilities management)
  • Experience supporting infrastructure installs, upgrades, or capital projects
  • Exposure to vendor coordination and compliance-driven environments

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility systems and components
  • Conduct repairs, installations, and on-site inspections to ensure operational reliability
  • Monitor Building Management System (BMS) and respond to alarms using standard procedures
  • Operate and maintain plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems
  • Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
  • Assist in operating critical infrastructure under guidance of senior technicians
  • Work with minimal supervision on day-to-day activities
  • Support vendor work approvals, including job briefings, execution tracking, and completion reviews
  • Ensure vendor activities comply with established standards and operating procedures
  • Maintain and update technical documentation in coordination with service providers
  • Maintain site logs, permits, and documentation (e.g., MOPs, procedures)
  • Identify Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and recommend improvements
  • Respond to site incidents, including equipment failures or operational delays
  • Support compliance and operational processes by following established procedures
  • Complete routine work orders and circuit installations
  • Troubleshoot and maintain auxiliary and office equipment as needed
  • Perform minor system modifications (mechanical/electrical)
  • Support infrastructure upgrades and site improvement projects
  • Partner with team members to resolve facility issues and maintain uptime
  • Communicate inventory needs to ensure availability of critical spare parts
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance on general maintenance activities
  • Contribute recommendations for infrastructure improvements
