About The Position

This opportunity is with a leading provider of mission-critical data centers, seeking a Data Center Construction Project Manager to act as an Owner's Representative for Construction Services. The firm offers a complete life cycle of solutions custom-fit to client requirements for mission-critical facilities. The Construction PM will be responsible for all aspects of managing a data center construction project on behalf of the Owner, providing leadership to contractors and vendors. The candidate will have overall responsibility for delivering assigned projects on budget and on time, ensuring project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and objectives. The successful candidate must be exceptionally organized and proficient in back-office tasks such as change orders, budgets, and paperwork.

Requirements

  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or General Contractor.
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
  • Client Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skills.
  • Familiarity with the design process of building systems for data center and mission-critical projects.
  • Solid Construction Project Management experience.
  • Effective Communicator – emails, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Solid Admin skills.
  • Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, P6 Oracle Primavera, AutoCAD a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS degree.
  • Belong and Attend professional organizations such as AFCOM, ASHRAE, 7x24 exchange, PTC, DatacenterDynamics / DCD, Uptime, iMasons, Bisnow etc.
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans.
  • Experience with Electrical / Mechanical: Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors to manage day-to-day activities impacting the delivery of company's critical facilities construction projects.
  • Ensure all day-to-day project responsibilities are met by contractors and vendors.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors.
  • Create and manage project schedules.
  • Develop project plans, including sizing, costs, budget, scheduling, timeline, and managing change orders.
  • Assist with reporting and RFPs to Contractors.
  • Deliver Built to Suit projects with an emphasis on value-engineering.
  • Drive Company Standards uniformly across all project participants and projects.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including progress billing, rental equipment, and income/expenses, to protect the company's interest while maintaining good client relationships.
  • Represent the company in project meetings.
  • Act as a key liaison with managers of all company departments.
  • Maintain all logs required to track project progress.
