About The Position

This opportunity is with a leading provider of mission-critical data centers, seeking a Data Center Construction Project Manager to act as an Owner's Representative. The firm specializes in custom-fit, full life cycle solutions for mission-critical facilities, serving Enterprise, Colocation, and Hyperscale Companies nationwide. The Construction PM will oversee all aspects of critical facility construction projects, acting on behalf of the Owner. This includes leading contractors and vendors, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, and verifying that project scope and quality meet Company Design Standards and objectives. The ideal candidate must be exceptionally organized and proficient in administrative tasks such as managing change orders, budgets, and project documentation.

Requirements

  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as an Owner or General Contractor.
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
  • Client Facing / Client relationship / Client Management skills.
  • Familiarity with the design process of building systems for data center and mission-critical projects.
  • Solid Construction Project Management experience.
  • Effective Communicator – emails, phone, and face-to-face.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Solid Admin skills.
  • Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel.
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military Veterans is a huge plus.
  • Experience with Electrical / Mechanical roles such as Navy nukes - EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain liaison with various contractors and vendors to manage day-to-day activities impacting the delivery of critical facilities construction projects.
  • Ensure contractors and vendors meet all day-to-day project responsibilities.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors.
  • Create and manage project schedules.
  • Develop project plans, including scope, costs, budget, scheduling, and timelines, and manage change orders.
  • Assist with reporting and RFPs to Contractors.
  • Deliver Built to Suit projects with a strong emphasis on value-engineering.
  • Drive uniform adherence to Company Standards for Project Delivery by all project participants.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts, including progress billing, rental equipment, and income/expenses, to protect the company's interests while maintaining client relationships.
  • Represent the company in project meetings.
  • Act as a key liaison with managers of all company departments.
  • Maintain all logs required to track project progress.
