Data Center Build & Deployment Intern

TensorWave•Las Vegas, NV

About The Position

Data Center Integration turns delivered hardware into installed, cabled, power-on racks ready for cluster bring-up. We’re looking for a Data Center Build & Deployment Intern to join our team during an exciting phase of growth. In this role, you will work inside that machine on live builds: receiving and staging racks, running installation quality checks against our port maps and standards, tracking throughput, and finding the bottleneck that slows the next build down. You will finish the program having shipped a deployment dashboard the team uses and a cycle-time improvement with numbers behind it.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in Engineering technology, construction management, industrial or electrical engineering, logistics or supply chain, or IT programs.
  • Hands-on project, club, or job experience (Formula SAE, Habitat builds, trades work) counts heavily.
  • Technical, maintenance, construction, electrical, or logistics backgrounds map directly (e.g., Navy EM, ET, Seabee ratings; Army 12-series engineers, 91-series maintenance, 92-series logistics; USMC 11-series utilities and 04-series logistics; Air Force 3E civil engineering and 2S materiel management). Navy nuclear operators are especially welcome.
  • Prior work in construction, facilities, field service, logistics, manufacturing, or IT operations. Project or operations managers returning from a break are a strong fit for the throughput and process work.
  • One of: current enrollment in a relevant program; military experience in a technical, maintenance, construction, electrical, or logistics specialty; or 2+ years of prior work in a relevant field.
  • Comfort with physical, on-your-feet work in loud, temperature-variable data halls, including lifting up to 50 lb with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Working spreadsheet skills (Excel or Google Sheets): ability to turn a messy log into a clean weekly count.
  • Reliability and checklist discipline: ability to follow steps as written and flag when a step is wrong.
  • Ability to meet colocation site access requirements, including a background check.
  • Able to travel to Data Center sites, between 30 to 50% site time during build windows.

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or 30, NFPA 70E awareness, or other formal safety training.
  • Electrical, low-voltage, or fiber exposure; CompTIA A+ or Server+.
  • Lean or Six Sigma training; dashboarding in Power BI, Smartsheet, or similar.
  • Forklift or material-handling certification; prior data center or mission-critical work.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and staging racks
  • Running installation quality checks against port maps and standards
  • Tracking throughput
  • Identifying bottlenecks in the build process
  • Shipping a deployment dashboard for team use
  • Implementing a cycle-time improvement with supporting data
