About The Position

Riot is seeking a Data Center Asset Manager to join their Central Operations team. This role will be responsible for the end-to-end strategy and process for managing physical assets across Riot's data center portfolio. This includes tracking, assessing, and managing critical power, cooling infrastructure, IT, and networking equipment. The position involves owning the Asset Management strategy and its operational processes, managing the CMMS platform as the system of record for asset data, and leading site-level asset gap assessments and remediation. Additionally, the role will lead Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and criticality assessments to define the Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) program strategy, determining preventive and predictive tasks and their intervals. This position is remote/hybrid, requiring regular travel to Riot sites for assessments, audits, and coordination.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in asset management, fixed asset management, or reliability/maintenance programs within data center, industrial, or other critical infrastructure environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or familiarity with ISO 55000/55001 asset management standards strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time.
• Demonstrated experience owning or administering a CMMS platform (e.g., Nuvolo, Maximo, IBM TRIRIGA, or similar).
• Strong technical writing skills — able to produce clear, audit-ready standards, SOPs, and process documentation.
• Experience developing asset lifecycle, spares/inventory, or maintenance strategies, ideally across a multi-site portfolio.
• Experience conducting FMEA or criticality analysis and applying it to design a Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) program.
• Ability to reconcile conflicting inputs — client contractual requirements vs. OEM manufacturer specifications — into a coherent, defensible strategy.
• Strong cross-functional coordination skills; able to work with Procurement, Logistics, Facilities, Standards & Governance, and site operations teams without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the Asset Management strategy for tracking, assessing, valuing, maintaining, and managing physical data center assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Develop the Asset Management process to operationalize the strategy, including asset onboarding, tagging, classification, transfers, audits, and decommissioning.
• Own data integrity in the CMMS platform as the system of record for asset data, including configuration, asset registers, reporting, and data integrity standards. Partner with IT/platform teams for CMMS integration with DCIM, ServiceNow, or other systems.
• Lead site-level asset gap assessments and remediation across the portfolio, validating inventories, resolving data issues, and establishing accurate asset registers.
• Identify dominant failure modes, risks, and maintenance-relevant data across key asset classes through FMEA and criticality analysis, collaborating with Engineering to inform maintenance strategy.
• Apply FMEA and criticality outputs to define and refine Riot's Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) program strategy, guiding PM task selection, intervals, and prioritization.
• Reconcile client-provided scopes of work and contractual asset coverage with OEM manufacturer manuals and maintenance intervals, incorporating them into the maintenance strategy.
• Develop the spares strategy, including required spares, stocking levels, and lead times, in coordination with the Logistics team.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation for the asset program, such as asset standards, classification schemes, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with site-based Asset & Maintenance Planners to ensure the Asset Management strategy is effectively executed at the site level.
• Conduct or oversee periodic asset audits and inventory validations for compliance and audit readiness.
• Ensure asset records, controls, and documentation meet Finance, Internal Audit, and SOC 2 requirements, maintaining audit-ready evidence.
• Monitor asset health, utilization, and status trends across the portfolio to identify risks and process gaps, reporting findings to Central Operations leadership.
• Define the handoff points between the Asset Management strategy and the downstream Maintenance Strategy.
