About The Position

The Data Architect will assess and cultivate long-term strategic goals for existing data systems and future data warehousing in conjunction with data users, managers, clients, and other key stakeholders. This role involves coordinating with technical staff to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures. Additionally, the Data Architect will design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective availability, protection, and integrity of data assets.

Requirements

  • Working technical experience with strategically designing and implementing data warehouses, data marts, and data stores.
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Effective written and oral communications in order to establish and maintain good rapport with business and agency staff for effective and timely problem identification and resolution of problems.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize the current version of Microsoft Work, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize .Net (Visual Basic, C#), Java, or other modern development languages.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize SQL Database.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize Windows Server OS, functions/commands.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize SQL Management Studio.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize SQL (language).
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize Visual Studio.
  • Eight (8) years of direct experience relative to the field of work.
  • At least five (5) years direct experience with data architecting, data mining, large-scale data modeling, and business requirements gathering/analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee data collection, master data, and databases.
  • Create models for new data warehouse development and/or changes to existing data stores.
  • Design and manage data warehouse development and any future improvement and growth projects.
  • Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data systems and leverage solutions to ensure data standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve data system and/or data warehouse access and performance issues.
  • Oversee and enforce Data Governance policies.
