About The Position

As a (Senior) Consultant Data Architect, you will be the technical point of contact for complex and challenging client projects. You will advise clients on making architectural choices and help them transition to modern cloud-based data platforms. The focus is particularly on on-premise to cloud migrations and designing scalable Azure data platforms, using technologies such as Azure, SQL, Databricks, and Snowflake. You start with conversation and dialogue with the client: you understand their ideas, ambitions, and constraints and translate them into well-thought-out technical designs and architectures. With a helicopter view, you monitor coherence, quality, and interests, while simultaneously having enough depth to provide substantive direction.

Requirements

  • Completed HBO or university education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Lead Developer and/or Data Architect, preferably with a BI and/or AI focus.
  • Designed, built, and successfully delivered multiple data projects end-to-end.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure (including Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, and Synapse), databases such as SQL Server and Snowflake, various ETL tools, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Extensive experience with dimensional data modeling.
  • Social, strong communication skills, and comfortable in the role of trusted advisor.
  • Ability to translate client needs into appropriate technical solutions and navigate smoothly within and outside the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the Medallion architecture is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end data architectures and determine standards for data integration, storage, lifecycle management, and scalability.
  • Advise clients on cloud strategy, migration paths, and platform choices, with a strong focus on Azure ecosystems and modern data platform solutions.
  • Define and ensure data standards, governance structures, and security guidelines, in line with both technical and organizational requirements of the client.
  • Act as a bridge between business, IT, and data teams. You easily interact with various stakeholders and can explain technical choices clearly and convincingly.
  • As a senior, actively contribute to knowledge sharing within BearingPoint. Coach colleagues, contribute to best practices, and help further develop our data and cloud propositions.
