Data Architect: Azure, Databricks & AI
About The Position
Seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to design and modernize enterprise-scale data platforms, focusing on Azure, Databricks, data governance, and AI-ready architectures. This is a contract-to-hire role, with an expected contract period of about 3 to 6 months before conversion to the client’s full-time employee role. The position is onsite in Los Angeles, California, or Houston, Texas. The role combines enterprise architecture strategy with hands-on technical design and implementation. The architect will work with senior technology and business stakeholders and help shape data platforms, governance, and architectures that support analytics and AI.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Data Platform Modernization.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and Spark.
- Deep understanding of enterprise data modeling, integration, metadata management, data lineage, governance, and security.
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with senior technology and business stakeholders.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with GenAI, vector databases such as Pinecone, pgvector, or Qdrant, and AI-driven data architectures.
- Knowledge of enterprise governance tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Informatica Cloud Data Governance, or Alation.
- Financial Services industry experience.
