We are looking for a Data & Transaction Architect with strong experience in designing and scaling transactional and real-time data architectures in cloud-native and distributed environments. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the backbone of data flow between operational and analytical systems, ensuring consistency, low latency, scalability, and reliability in mission-critical architectures. You will operate at the intersection of transactional systems, event streaming, and data platforms, designing solutions that connect operational databases, streaming layers, and analytical systems. The ideal candidate has deep experience with Amazon DynamoDB, Apache Kafka (or AWS MSK), and Oracle, as well as an understanding of how to integrate these ecosystems into modern, resilient architectures.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or solutions architecture in distributed and cloud environments
  • Solid experience in designing transactional and event-driven architectures at scale
  • Proficiency in Amazon DynamoDB, including data modeling, access patterns, partitioning, and performance/cost optimization
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and/or AWS MSK, including topic design, event streaming, and real-time pipelines
  • Strong experience with Oracle systems (OLTP), including integration, replication, and cloud migration patterns
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural patterns such as Event-Driven Architecture, Event Sourcing, and CQRS
  • Experience with real-time data integration using CDC (Change Data Capture)
  • Familiarity with AWS (e.g., Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, API Gateway) for supporting distributed architectures
  • Experience in defining data contracts, event schemas, and data governance in distributed environments
  • Knowledge of system reliability best practices: idempotency, retry patterns, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery
  • Experience in hybrid architectures (on-premise + cloud) and modernization of legacy systems
  • Strong communication skills with technical and business teams to translate requirements into architectural solutions

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar) is a plus
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Data Analytics, or AWS Developer) are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design scalable event-driven and transactional architectures in AWS and hybrid environments
  • Define data modeling strategies in Amazon DynamoDB, ensuring performance, scalability, efficient partitioning, and cost optimization
  • Architect and implement streaming pipelines with Apache Kafka and/or AWS MSK for real-time data ingestion and processing
  • Integrate Oracle systems (OLTP) with modern cloud platforms using CDC (Change Data Capture) and data replication patterns
  • Design end-to-end architectures connecting transactional, streaming, and analytics workloads
  • Define event patterns, data contracts, and governance in distributed architectures
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability of real-time data pipelines
  • Collaborate with backend engineering teams on implementing patterns like Event Sourcing and CQRS, where applicable
  • Optimize latency, throughput, and reliability in multi-region distributed systems
  • Establish best practices for data consistency, idempotency, and event reprocessing
  • Support architectural decisions involving DynamoDB, Kafka/MSK, Oracle, and AWS data services
  • Work with security and platform teams to ensure compliance, encryption, and security in data flow
