About The Position

Currently seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to support a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) program. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise data architecture solutions that support mission-critical applications and analytics. You will work closely with technical teams and stakeholders to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions in a cloud-based environment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with enterprise data modeling, ETL architecture, cloud-based database technologies, and modern data warehouse solutions.

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on experience with ER/Studio Enterprise (Data Modeling & Architecture Tools).
Experience with ER/Studio Enterprise is required and cannot be substituted with other data modeling tools.
3+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures.
3+ years of experience with AWS, Oracle, and Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS).
3+ years of experience designing and developing ETL solutions.
Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and/or data lakes.
Experience with data modeling and database design.
Experience working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Experience with Databricks.
Experience with data governance, master data management, and data quality practices.
Experience with ETL and data analytics tools.
Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Amazon Redshift.
Experience developing dashboards or reporting solutions using Tableau.
Experience supporting federal government or healthcare programs.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain enterprise data architecture strategies that support business and technical objectives.
Develop logical and physical data models using ER/Studio Enterprise.
Design and implement scalable data warehouse and data lake solutions.
Architect and support ETL processes to efficiently integrate data from multiple sources.
Develop solutions for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Establish data governance, master data management, and data quality best practices.
Evaluate data architecture tools, technologies, and approaches, providing recommendations based on technical and business requirements.
Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data solutions.
Support Agile software development activities throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC).
Document architecture decisions, standards, and technical designs.
