As a Data Architect Sr within PNC's Retail Architecture organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Cleveland, OH, Dallas, TX, or Birmingham, AL. In addition to standard data architecture skills, the right candidate will also have experience with data streaming, Kafka specifically, and with designing data streaming pipelines. This position will work with an extremely large, complex and foundational data streaming platform that supports making data available from many systems of record to all of our channel applications. Strong communication skills are mandatory, as well as the ability to communicate at multiple levels – technology partners, business partners and leadership. The right candidate will also possess the ability to understand business processes and understand & predict the impact of data changes to those processes and systems. Requirements

University / college degree.
Industry relevant experience typically 8+ years.
Strong communication skills are mandatory.
Ability to communicate at multiple levels – technology partners, business partners and leadership.
Ability to understand business processes and understand & predict the impact of data changes to those processes and systems.
Experience with data streaming, Kafka specifically.
Experience designing data streaming pipelines.

Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable.

Responsibilities

Designs, develops and optimizes highly complex, specialized data warehouses, with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture, to support business users and Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
Analyzes business intelligence data and makes recommendations for data warehouse growth and integration for the enterprise.
Works with IT and business customers to develop requirements for designing the overall data warehouse architecture.
Provides support and technical guidance to ensure architecture and framework are aligned with BI application needs.
Leads and consults on the implementation and integration of data warehouses; ensures data is current and meets organizational quality and integrity standards.
