About The Position
Join a dynamic, cross-functional technology team as a Senior DataStage Administrator (Data Architect III) and play a pivotal role in managing, optimizing, and securing enterprise ETL systems. You’ll collaborate with development teams, drive process automation, and ensure the reliability and performance of our IBM DataStage environments. This contract-to-hire opportunity is open to candidates in multiple approved locations and offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, consumer-centric, and regulated industry environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years supporting ETL platforms/processes
- 2+ years as an IBM DataStage administrator
- 2+ years of software development experience, ideally in ETL job development
Nice To Haves
- PL/SQL, PowerShell, Python, or Bash scripting experience
- Role-based user access management (RBAC)
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Experience with Unix/Linux file systems
- Familiarity with ODBC/JDBC driver management
- Data warehouse and ETL architecture knowledge
- Experience in consumer-centric or regulated industries (e.g., Financial Services)
- Proficiency with GIT and ServiceNow
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Proactively monitor IBM DataStage environments for performance and storage utilization
- Assist project teams with new project creation, directory setup, access management, and firewall rules
- Consult on ETL job and system performance, including database and file system optimization
- Implement and maintain least-privilege access and robust separation of duties
- Apply system upgrades, patching, and certificate updates to keep environments secure and current
- Support CI/CD job promotion and ensure smooth deployment processes across environments
- Collaborate with IBM support and internal teams to resolve issues and apply updates
- Advocate and enforce best practices for ETL job development, testing, and deployment
- Enhance security and ensure regulatory compliance with enterprise standards
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Author and maintain clear, up-to-date internal documentation
- Provide operational support and participate in an on-call rotation for system access and platform availability
