About The Position

This role is for a Data Annotation Specialist, a contract position based in Seattle, WA. The specialist will be responsible for reviewing multimedia content including text, images, video, and audio. This role requires a high degree of accuracy in labeling nuanced and borderline cases, strong critical thinking and judgment in ambiguous situations, and the ability to follow complex guidelines. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in content moderation, data annotation, or policy enforcement, and proficiency with annotation tools and platforms. Experience with social media platforms and understanding of online community standards is also beneficial. The role involves reviewing potentially disturbing or sensitive content and requires the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while prioritizing accuracy. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Media Studies, Communications, Psychology, Law, or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in content moderation, data annotation, or policy enforcement roles.
  • Proficiency with annotation tools and platforms.
  • Ability to review multimedia content (text, images, video, audio).
  • High accuracy in labeling nuanced and borderline cases.
  • Ability to follow complex guidelines and operational definitions.
  • Strong judgment in ambiguous cases.
  • Ability to identify gaps or risks not explicitly covered by guidelines and escalate appropriately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for documentation and escalation.
