About The Position

The Pharos Data & Analytics team within RBC Global Security is looking for a Data Analyst to help transform security data into meaningful insights that drive decision-making across the enterprise. You will work closely with data engineers, product owners, and security stakeholders to explore, analyze, and visualize data from our security data platform. This is a hands-on analytical role where you will write complex queries against large-scale datasets, build dashboards and reports, identify trends, and deliver data-driven recommendations that directly improve our organization's security posture.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar analytical role.
  • Advanced SQL skills — complex joins, window functions, CTEs, subqueries, query optimization, and performance tuning on large datasets.
  • Experience working with Databricks, Delta Lake, or similar cloud-based data platforms.
  • Proficiency in building dashboards and visualizations (Python,Power BI, Tableau, or Databricks SQL dashboards).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills — ability to work with ambiguous requirements and distill them into clear deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star schema, dimensional modeling).

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis (pandas, notebooks).
  • Experience with Azure cloud services.
  • Background in cybersecurity data (vulnerability management, SAST/DAST, asset inventory, compliance metrics).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and Agile workflows.
  • Exposure to statistical analysis or basic ML concepts.
  • Experience with data quality frameworks or data governance practices.

Responsibilities

  • Write advanced SQL queries to explore, validate, and extract insights from large-scale security datasets across bronze/silver/gold layers in Databricks and Delta Lake.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports that surface key security metrics, KRIs, and trends to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data anomalies and quality issues.
  • Partner with data engineers to define data requirements, validate pipeline outputs, and ensure data accuracy.
  • Work with security stakeholders to understand business questions and translate them into analytical deliverables.
  • Present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring analyses and reporting workflows.
  • Contribute to data quality standards by flagging inconsistencies and proposing validation rules.
  • Support the development of self-serve analytics capabilities for the broader security organization.
