About The Position

The State of Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) is seeking an energetic and passionate Data Analytics Manager to serve as the Chief Data Officer within the Office of Information Technology. This role is responsible for creating, coordinating, and managing the agency's data strategy and roadmap, developing and ensuring adherence to data management and governance policies, and overseeing all aspects of the department's public and internal data analytics, including artificial intelligence. ODNR manages a vast array of natural resources across the state and offers a unique work experience with opportunities for involvement in public events and a pleasant central office campus environment.

Requirements

  • 84 months of experience or training in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months of experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • Completion of associate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field AND 66 months of experience or training in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months of experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field AND 60 months of experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months of experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • Completion of graduate core program in data analytics, computer science, information systems, computer engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, industrial/systems engineering, or related field AND 48 months of experience or training in data analytics, statistical analysis, or research methods AND 12 months of experience in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
  • 12 months of experience as a Data Analytics Supervisor/Lead, 66936.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
  • Transcripts are required for all coursework, degrees or educational accomplishments claimed on the application.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Chief Data Officer: creates, coordinates & manages the agency's data strategy & roadmap
  • Develops & ensures adherence to data management & data governance related policies, procedures & processes in partnership with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) & other agency leadership
  • Works with & supervises the activities of staff assigned to develop, coordinate, implement & oversee data management, data governance & data analytics
  • Oversees all aspects of the department's public & internal data analytics
  • Oversees all aspects of artificial intelligence for the agency
