About The Position

Eaton is seeking a Data Analytics Intern within the Electrical Sector’s Protection, Control and Solutions business to support the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of manufacturing data used to drive operational performance. The primary objective of this role is to assist in validating machine connectivity data from connected equipment, improving data quality within Ignition and related systems, and developing meaningful analytics and visual reporting that support faster decision-making in daily operations and Tier meetings. This position will contribute to data validation activities, downtime reason reporting, ideal rate verification, style number maintenance, Power BI reporting, customized dashboard development for OEE and AIM tracking, Pareto and downtime visualization, machine performance trend analysis, recurring downtime pattern identification, correlation analysis, and eAndon reporting support.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program from an accredited institution in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round).
  • Relocation is not provided for this role. The candidate must currently be located within 50 miles of Beaver, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Identify gaps in the Ignition OEE real-time performance tracking data collection process and support actions to improve data completeness and accuracy.
  • Investigate data inconsistencies and collaborate with OT team to resolve tag mapping, or reporting issues Sync with machine PLCs data tags, and related system inputs to help ensure Kepware and Ignition are reporting machine health and performance metrics accurately.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineers and operations teams to identify key process inputs and outputs and develop Power BI reports that support daily and weekly decision-making.
  • Generate data analytics reports that compare performance across key time horizons, including today versus yesterday, this week versus last week, this month versus last month, and this year versus last year.
  • Develop and maintain customized dashboards for OEE, AIM, and related manufacturing metrics to support Tier meetings and operational reviews.
  • Analyze downtime reason data and develop Pareto charts, graphical summaries, and visual reporting that highlight the most significant sources of lost performance.
  • Perform trend analysis on machine performance data to identify changes over time and support root cause discussions with plant teams.
  • Identify recurring downtime patterns and assist in correlation analysis between machine events, process conditions, and production outcomes.
  • Review Ignition pages and related reporting views to verify that metrics, style numbers, and supporting data are displayed correctly and updated as needed.
  • Support eAndon reporting and other manufacturing data analysis requests by preparing summaries, validating data quality, and helping create user-friendly visual outputs for operations teams.
