About The Position

WoodmenLife is looking for a Data Analytics Intern to join our team for the Summer 2027 program. This 10-week internship offers a unique opportunity to gain workplace experience in the insurance industry by assisting with administrative functions and supporting the Data Analytics division's daily objectives. Interns will be exposed to the planning, execution, and evaluation stages of various work projects and initiatives. The program aims to foster a dynamic and innovative work environment by integrating interns who bring fresh perspectives, contribute to value-added work, and enhance the company's talent pipeline. Requirements

  • Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in college, currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, MIS, Data Analytics or related field(s)
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Ability to work 38.75 hours per week
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while working collaboratively.
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • The ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Gain broad exposure to the WoodmenLife organization by meeting weekly with the Internship Cohort, collectively with Executive Leadership, and one-on-one with leaders at the division level.
  • Summarize and present capstone presentation of the internship experience including project accomplishments, skill development, and key learnings.
  • Learn to operate effectively within a collaborative, Agile-driven team environment, contributing to cross-functional efforts that support strategic and departmental goals.
  • Develop an understanding of scalable and maintainable enterprise data warehouse and BI system architecture, including foundational principles and best practices.
  • Support data analysis efforts by extracting, transforming, and interpreting complex datasets to generate insights that inform strategic decisions, manage risk, and improve operational efficiency.
