Fall 2026 Internship/Co-op - Data Analytics & AI
About The Position
Zurich Canada is seeking a post-secondary student for an Internship/Co-op position within the Data, Analytics & AI team for Fall 2026. This role will support business initiatives by analyzing data, developing insights, building reporting and dashboard solutions, and exploring practical uses of AI to improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer outcomes. The intern will work under direct supervision alongside experienced professionals. This is part of an internship program and is also open to Co-op students. Zurich Canada uses artificial intelligence–enabled tools in its recruitment process, but all hiring decisions are reviewed and made by qualified hiring professionals. The company follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days per week of in-person presence.
Requirements
- Interest in data, analytics, artificial intelligence, automation, and how these capabilities can be applied to solve business problems.
- Comfortable working with data, identifying patterns, asking thoughtful questions, and turning information into clear insights.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and business-friendly way.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar tools is considered an asset.
- Previous coursework, project experience, or work experience involving data analysis, dashboard development, business intelligence, AI, machine learning, automation, or process improvement.
- Experience participating in school, volunteer, or work projects where data was used to support a recommendation, improve a process, or tell a clear business story.
- Exposure to responsible AI concepts, data privacy, data quality, or ethical use of data and AI.
- Experience with data visualization, storytelling, or presenting insights to non-technical audiences through class projects, case competitions, internships, or extracurricular activities.
- Curiosity about the insurance industry and an interest in learning how analytics and AI can support underwriting, claims, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
- Experience working in a team-based project environment, including gathering input, organizing work, meeting deadlines, and incorporating feedback.
Responsibilities
- Support data analytics and AI initiatives by gathering requirements, preparing data, performing analysis, and helping translate findings into clear business insights.
- Assist with the development and enhancement of dashboards, reports, and performance tracking tools using platforms such as Power BI, and other analytics tools.
- Work with team members to identify opportunities to improve workflows, automate manual processes, and apply AI-enabled solutions in a responsible and practical way.
- Help document processes, prepare presentation materials, summarize insights, and communicate progress to business stakeholders.
- Collaborate with colleagues across business areas to understand data needs, support project delivery, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
