About The Position

Gartner is seeking a Senior Data Analyst within the Chief Data and Analytics Office. Data Analysts interpret and analyze complex datasets to provide insights and support data driven decision making to support product development of data domains to drive business initiatives. This role will support our Master Data Management team with focus on developing insights from data, supporting requirements and execution support of large- and small-scale initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative field
  • 5-7 years of experience as a Data Analyst in an analytics-driven environment
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL; understanding of data analysis tools and techniques
  • Python skills a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex datasets and generate meaningful insights
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, complex environment; demonstrates initiative and ownership without the need for close supervision
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to convey complex data findings to stakeholders
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Well versed in utilizing tools such MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio/Lucid Chart, JIRA, Confluence

Responsibilities

  • Use statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights to drive product requirements
  • Interpret results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis and create accurate/timely impact analysis
  • Identify KPIs and develop metrics to track and measure product performance
  • Identify, communicate, and assist with the efforts to resolve data gaps that impact the delivery of data products
  • Evaluate proposed technical solutions to ensure alignment with business needs and functional requirements
  • Collaborate across business and technical teams to create Technical Requirements, Functional Requirements, User Stories and User Acceptance Tests
  • Collaborate with QA teams in test plan creation and user acceptance testing validate delivered solution meets business expectations
  • Gain domain knowledge in relevant business areas, technical options/limitations and data sources/processes
  • Ensure quality through adherence to and supporting processes and procedures, including the maintenance of documentation on shared file systems
  • Provide support to other data analysts, product owners and project managers to help drive business initiatives
