About The Position

The Data Analyst will develop and maintain analytic products, dashboards, and ETL pipelines informing nuclear industrial base assessments, at-risk materials monitoring, CFIUS reviews, and emerging technology evaluations. Work is analyst-driven and directly informs senior government decision-makers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, engineering, economics, international affairs, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a data analyst, intelligence analyst, or research analyst role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, and dashboard publication.
  • Working proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis (pandas, requests, standard ETL libraries).
  • Experience designing and operating ETL pipelines against multiple source types (APIs, flat files, SQL, web-scraped content).
  • Strong written analytic communication; ability to produce concise products for senior audiences.
  • Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Local residence in the DC-MD-VA area.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting DOE, NNSA, DoD, IC, or Treasury customers on national security analytic missions.
  • Subject matter familiarity with any of the following: nuclear industrial base, nuclear fuel cycle, critical and at-risk materials (including rare earths, tritium, HEU/LEU supply chains), CFIUS, export controls, emerging technology assessments (AI/ML, nuclear fuel cycle, quantum, biotech, advanced semiconductors, material characterization).
  • Working proficiency in R for statistical analysis.
  • Experience with open-source intelligence (OSINT) tradecraft, including structured analytic techniques, source evaluation, and foreign-language source triage.
  • Experience with SQL and relational database design.
  • Experience with Azure data services, SharePoint, or Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) integration.
  • Familiarity with supply chain analytics, trade data (Panjiva, ImportGenius, UN Comtrade), corporate registry data (Sayari, Dun & Bradstreet), or patent/publication datasets.
  • Experience with geospatial analysis (ArcGIS, QGIS, or Python geospatial libraries).
  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations in Power BI to support recurring and ad hoc analytic requirements.
  • Develop, automate, and document ETL processes across structured and unstructured data sources, including government systems, commercial databases, and open-source feeds.
  • Conduct open-source data stream analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and indicators relevant to nuclear industrial base resilience, supply chain risk, at-risk materials, and foreign investment activity.
  • Produce written analytic products, data summaries, and briefing materials supporting CFIUS case reviews, technology assessments, and related national security evaluations.
  • Write and maintain scripts for data acquisition, transformation, enrichment, and analysis.
  • Integrate disparate datasets into unified analytic environments; perform data quality assurance, deduplication, entity resolution, and normalization.
  • Partner with government leads, subject matter experts, and fellow contractors to translate mission questions into repeatable analytic workflows.
  • Document data sources, methodologies, assumptions, and limitations to standards acceptable for government record and audit.
