About The Position

The Insights and Product Analytics (IPA) team is responsible for the business performance of all research products and analyzes aspects of Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) business unit, including client value drivers like research content, client interaction, and insights into conferences and events. IPA also supports the BTI organization by enabling and performing analysis related to client retention, associate performance, budget and financial analysis, and client demand sensing. The team powers fact-based decision-making by providing data, insights, and analytic tools to continuously improve the business operationally and strategically. This role is for a Data Analyst with a passion for analytical problem-solving to join a growing team. The individual will address a wide range of problems concerning content analytics, interaction and events analytics, demand sensing, staffing models, cost reporting, automation, expert performance analytics, standard reporting, and ad-hoc analytics. Individuals in this role will collaborate closely with IPA leadership to structure problems, identify data sources, perform analysis, and communicate findings. Strong performers will develop skills to independently manage project workstreams and interact with stakeholders. Projects will involve a mix of team and independent problem-solving, automation, and collaboration with the Information Technology team.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience involving analysis of large volumes of data with strong hands-on experience with analytical tools.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, restructure, identify, and articulate insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a quantitative concentration (e.g., statistics, data science, mathematics, engineering, operational research, computer science, or economics).
  • Proven track record of solving complex problems, thinking creatively, and using data to tell a story.
  • Ability to engage teams and key stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Intermediate SQL.
  • Python/R.
  • PowerBI.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must reside within a reasonable proximity to a Gartner Center of Excellence office location (Irving, TX; Stamford, CT).
  • U.S. work authorization required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with colleagues to conduct analysis that surfaces actionable insights for the BTI organization.
  • Effectively communicate findings to drive adoption and implementation.
  • Build dashboards and reporting.
  • Contribute to key projects following rollout plans, success criteria, and metrics.
  • Become a deep subject-matter expert on Gartner’s data, analytic tools, reports, and data infrastructure.
  • Take responsibility for problem-solving, root cause analysis, and devising testing methodologies for validation.
  • Articulately explain data sources to senior audiences.
  • Support and enable improvement initiatives related to IPA deliverables (e.g., new, innovative data sources, analytic insights, tools).
  • Support and enable operational process improvement (e.g., improving IPA processes and communications).
  • Collaborate with the Information Technology team and data scientists to ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency.
