The Comptroller of Maryland (COM) is recruiting a Data Analyst to support COMStat, the agency's first performance management and accountability system. This is an exciting opportunity to work with data in furtherance of continuous improvement and excellence in public service. COMStat supports the Comptroller’s vision for transforming our 1100-person agency and improving opportunities for our communities, small businesses, and families in the State of Maryland. The successful candidate will have superb analytic rigor, a team-oriented work style, and experience in data analysis, visualization, and governance. The Data Analyst supports COMStat activities related to data analysis, quality and develop dashboards, set data quality standards, automate data collection, cleaning and analysis processes. The analyst coordinates the effort of developing dashboards and making data easily accessible to anyone, at any time. Businesses, residents, and civil servants expect to have readily available data to aid decision making. The Data Analyst is a key member of the COMStat team, which is responsible for leading performance management and open data functions by collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting the wide variety of data generated by Maryland's tax administration agency.
