The Lifetime Value Co. is seeking a Data Analyst Contractor to support their content team with data studies. This remote role involves leveraging analytical expertise to create compelling data-driven studies that power brand content, shaping stories, finding trends, and making sense of complex datasets using both manual and AI-driven analysis. Requirements

  • Experience with SQL for querying and managing databases.
  • Skilled in web scraping and automation (BeautifulSoup, Selenium, etc.).
  • Advanced Excel/G-Sheets (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling).
  • Experience with Google BigQuery and Looker.
  • Experience using or prompting AI tools for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with AI for automating routine analytic processes.
  • Competent in building dashboards and custom visualizations (Tableau, Excel, or equivalent).
  • Able to examine data sets from multiple perspectives, using various parameters to unearth original angles.
  • Experience with exploratory data analysis, statistics, and trend identification.
  • Comfortable explaining analysis outcomes to non-technical team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and narrative thinking.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate asynchronously in a distributed team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience supporting content, marketing, or digital media teams.
  • Knowledge of data journalism or content strategy.
  • Familiarity with additional scripting languages (JavaScript, Google Apps Script, etc.).
  • Experience with APIs for data acquisition.
  • Exposure to machine learning or advanced statistical modeling.
  • Strong in Python and/or R for data manipulation and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze diverse datasets to identify trends, patterns, and unique angles for content studies.
  • Interpret data using a range of techniques and parameters to meet the content team’s needs.
  • Use and prompt generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, AI data analysis platforms) to assist in data exploration, cleaning, and summarization.
  • Efficiently blend manual and automated approaches to maximize productivity and accuracy.
  • Run and develop scripts (Python, R, etc.) for data collection, processing, and automated report generation.
  • Design workflows that streamline recurring analysis tasks.
  • Obtain structured and unstructured data from web sources using scraping tools (BeautifulSoup, Google Colab, Selenium, etc.).
  • Clean and validate scraped data for analysis.
  • Create clear, engaging data visualizations using tools like Tableau, Google Sheets, Excel, or Python libraries (Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly) to support content narratives.
  • Work closely with writers, editors, and content strategists to translate data findings into compelling, reader-friendly insights and visual assets.
  • Validate data accuracy, troubleshoot anomalies, and document methodologies to ensure reliability and transparency.
