About The Position

This position works as a member of the data analytics department. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for understanding department reporting needs and transforms those needs into accurate and meaningful business insights. The Senior Data Analyst develops reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions that support strategic and operational decision-making across the credit union. This position collaborates closely with business units throughout the organization to understand reporting needs, identify trends, analyze performance metrics, and make data-driven recommendations. The role also assists with data integration, validation, testing, and ETL processes while leveraging the enterprise data platform maintained by the Data Engineer.

Requirements

  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
  • Advanced Power BI skills
  • Strong SQL Knowledge
  • Data storytelling and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, talk, and sit.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
  • Completion of 10+ years of job related specializations of process improvement, data validation, data visualization and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards, semantic models, and self-service reporting solutions.
  • Creates visualizations that are accurate, intuitive, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Develops trend analysis, forecasting, and forward-looking insights to help leaders anticipate operational needs, member behavior, performance risks, and growth opportunities.
  • Analyzes organizational data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance drivers.
  • Presents findings and actionable recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Creates documentation for reports, dashboards, data definitions, and business metrics.
  • Validates report outputs, metric calculations, and dashboard results to support data accuracy, consistency, and confidence in decision-making.
  • Identifies and communicates data quality concerns, inconsistencies, or anomalies to the Data Engineer and appropriate business stakeholders for review and resolution.
  • Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, correlations, and anomalies that support data-driven business decisions.
  • Works closely with departments to gather business requirements, define reporting needs, establishes KPI's and delivers data solutions that improves decision-making and operational efficiencies.
  • Trains end users on reporting tools and dashboard functionality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
