About The Position

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service, on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. To achieve this, Zipline needs to convert its massive data streams into clear, actionable insights for its partners and business. The Data Analyst will be responsible for building the definitive source of truth for commercial teams, acting as a storyteller and systems-builder. This role involves being the primary contact for Customer Success, Marketing, Finance, and Product teams, providing them with necessary reporting and dashboards. The ideal candidate possesses a strong business sense, understands how metrics drive business, is a SQL expert, and is focused on efficiency, proactively automating reporting processes and leveraging AI tools for faster insights. This position is based at Zipline's HQ in South San Francisco, CA.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related quantitative field.
  • You understand how data impacts the bottom line. You can talk ROI with Finance, attribution with Marketing, and performance metrics with Customer Success.
  • Deep expertise in SQL. You are comfortable navigating complex databases and can translate business questions into precise queries.
  • You have a talent for data visualization and know how to design self-service tools for non-technical users.
  • A track record of automating manual workflows. You stay ahead of the curve with AI tools and techniques that speed up data analysis and reporting.
  • Exceptional ability to simplify the complex. You can explain technical findings to a non-technical audience in a way that is clear and compelling.
  • You don’t wait for a ticket to be assigned. You see a gap in our insights and you build the solution to fill it.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ThoughtSpot and Mode is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain high-impact reporting for our partners and internal stakeholders. You will lead the creation of intuitive dashboards in ThoughtSpot and Mode that make data accessible and actionable.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to automate recurring reporting and adopt new AI-driven tools to make surfacing data, trends, and business insights easier and faster.
  • Partner directly with Customer Success (supporting our partners), Marketing, Finance, Product & Data teams to define KPIs and build the visibility needed to track them.
  • Act as the guardian of commercial data. You’ll write clean, performant SQL and ensure that every report we share—both internally and with customers—is accurate and trustworthy.
