The NYC Law Department is seeking a permanent city employee in the civil service title of Associate Staff Analyst for its Affirmative Litigation Division. The qualified candidate will primarily be responsible for assisting the Affirmative Litigation Division’s tenant-protection work, which involves litigation against landlords who violate City laws meant to keep tenants and buildings safe, and the Division’s collections work, which involves working with outside counsel to recoup money from individuals and entities that have been adjudicated to owe the City significant money. The qualified candidate will work closely with several attorneys in the Division to develop and implement strategies for the collection and analysis of data related to building violations, property records, judgment rolls, and other collections data. The qualified candidate will help develop, maintain, and refine tools and analyses that support and can be used in litigation.
